this set is a combination of the analog and digital world. it was done with an intention to test out a lens. which lens?,,, ehem.. ehem ...well if you wonder long enough in the photographic world, you'll definitely come across an infamous classic lens mount called M42. how classic? hmm.. well .. let see..it's probably somewhere along the timeline when my father was still a teenage boy flirting with my mother :P
The point is, in the world of M42 lens mount, no one will not know the name of the superior "Carl Zeiss Jena" (note#1: the company has nothing to do with Jena Haze..note#2:if u know who Jena Haze is then...hmmm note#3:if u think am a good person and want to keep it that way, please don't google the name).
Anyway Carl Zeiss Jena is one of the best lens manufacturer in the world. if u google for the all time best manual focus lens of 1:1.8 50mm(regardless of any lens mount), you'll definitely stumble upon a lens call Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar.
this set was done by the Pancolar. i used an adapter to fit it to my nikon d50. curious of it's reputation... went out to tested it in a flower fair. and well no big surprise, the sharpness, color rendering are superb. the manual focus, stoping down the lens and shooting with no meter is a little pain but hey.. we r talking digital here so..previews r there to be use man. what's really nice is that it does open up to f1.8, so nice for indoor use. another cool thing i love from this lens is, it focuses down to 35 cm (that's almost a macro already) ...oh boy this is getting long.. so let just stop here, shall we cheers
